Fuel tank information

Fuel tank
WARNING

Gasoline and its vapors are highly flammable. To prevent fires and explosions and minimize the risk of injury during refueling, follow these instructions.

1. Prior to refueling, turn off the engine and ensure no one is seated in the vehicle. Never refuel while smoking or near sparks, open flames, or other ignition sources such as the pilot lights of water heaters and clothes dryers.

2. Do not overfill the fuel tank. When refueling, ensure the pump nozzle is inserted into the fuel tank filler hole.

FR200G-K6-13
Stop filling when the fuel reaches the bottom of the filler tube. As fuel expands when heated, external heat can cause it to expand and overflow the fuel tank.
NOTICE

If fuel spills during refueling, quickly wipe it up as it may damage the plastic body.

Fuel tank cap

NOTICE

Remove the fuel tank cap by turning it counterclockwise. Turn the fuel tank cap fully clockwise to ensure it is securely closed.

Your go-kart engine is designed to use regular unleaded gasoline with a pump octane number of 91 or higher. Using ethanol-added fuel can cause carburetor clogging because the sulfur content in the fuel reacts with brass and aluminum components in the fuel system. We recommend using a fuel stabilizer to reduce the risk of corrosive damage. FR200G-K6-14

Fuel cock

The fuel cock supplies fuel from the tank to the carburetor.

As shown, the position of the fuel stem (located under the fuel tank) is explained as follows.

FR200G-K6-15
Fuel off

When the arrow on the fuel valve aligns with the “OFF” mark, the fuel supply is cut off, and no fuel will reach the carburetor. For long – term go – kart storage, follow these steps: Turn the fuel valve to the “OFF” position. Start the engine and let it idle until it consumes all the remaining fuel in the fuel line and stalls automatically. After the engine stalls, drain the fuel from the carburetor bowls. This process effectively prevents fuel line corrosion and carburetor damage.

FR200G-K6-16

Fuel off

Fuel on

Position the arrow mark at the “ON” position. The fuel is then on, and it will flow to the carburetor.

FR200G-K6-41

To prevent burns, avoid touching the hot exhaust system. Wait for the engine assembly to cool down before performing any maintenance.

Carburetor

We recommend using a fuel stabilizer consistently to prevent residue buildup from stale or deteriorated fuel. If the vehicle remains unused for 20 days or longer, fuel residue may form in the jets and passages, causing starting issues.

Carburetor adjustment significantly affects engine starting performance, low – speed driving stability, engine power performance, and fuel consumption rate.

Idle speed adjustment of the carburetor

The carburetor has two adjustable screws: the throttle adjustment screw and the idle air adjustment screw. During adjustment, turn the idle air adjustment screw fully clockwise, then turn it back one and a half turns, and start the engine. After starting, adjust the throttle adjustment screw to reach the desired idle speed, or coordinate the adjustment of the two screws to find the ideal idle speed. Once the idle speed is set, when suddenly opening the throttle, the engine speed should smoothly increase; when suddenly closing the throttle, the engine speed should also transition smoothly without stalling.

Adjustment of the main fuel injection needle of the carburetor

  • For engines operating under partial load for extended periods, to achieve better fuel economy, position the fuel needle’s positioning lock pin in the highest slot of the ring (i.e., the main fuel needle is at the lowest position).
  • For motorcycles requiring high – speed operation, to enable greater engine power output, place the main fuel needle’s positioning lock pin in the lowest slot (i.e., the main fuel needle is at the highest position).
  • When starting is difficult, slightly lower the positioning lock pin. Generally, the positioning lock pin is in the middle position.

For engines that have been in use for some time, remove the spark plug for inspection: if the electrodes are grayish – white, it indicates a lean fuel mixture. In this case, lower the lock pin by one or more slots to raise the main fuel needle; if the electrodes are dark black, it indicates a rich fuel mixture. Then, raise the lock pin by one or more slots to lower the main fuel needle.

Air filter

Cleaning the air filter element

Service the air filter element at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart.

Clean and replace it as necessary. If used in dusty or dirty environments, clean and replace the air filter more frequently.

WARNING

Never clean the air filter element with low-flash-point solvents or gasoline, as it may cause the engine to catch fire or explode.

NOTICE

Ensure that the air filter element is properly seated within the air filter case. Never run the engine with the air filter element removed, as this allows unfiltered air to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear and potential engine damage. Additionally, operating without the air filter element will affect carburetor jetting, leading to poor performance and possible engine overheating.

Replace the air filter element every 20 – 40 hours. Replace it more frequently if the go – kart is used in extremely dusty areas. When servicing the air filter element, check the air inlet of the air filter case for obstructions.

Spark plug

The spark plug is an important engine component and is easy to check. Remove and check the spark plug according to the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart.

The gap between the spark plug electrodes is 0.6 to 0.7 mm. After long – term use, the electrodes are prone to erosion, which affects the engine’s normal operation. At this point, adjust the electrode gap. If the electrode gap is too large, use a light tool like a screwdriver to gently tap the side electrode of the spark plug to reach the specified value. If the gap is too small, use a thin – mouthed tool like a small screwdriver to gently lift the side electrode to reach the specified value.

To remove the spark plug

  1. Remove the spark plug cap.
  2. Use the spark plug wrench in the owner’s tool kit to remove the spark plug as shown.
  3. Turn the spark plug wrench counterclockwise to loosen and remove the spark plug.

To check the spark plug

  1. Check the porcelain insulator around the spark plug’s center electrode for wear.
  2. Check the spark plug for electrode erosion, excessive carbon, or other deposits, and replace it if necessary.
  3. Measure the spark plug gap with a wire thickness gauge and adjust the gap to the specified value if needed.

To install the spark plug

Clean the surface of the spark plug gasket and its mating surface, then wipe off any grime from the spark plug threads. Use the spark plug wrench to install the spark plug by turning it clockwise to the specified torque. Reinstall the spark plug cap. The OEM manufacturer – specified spark plug is A7RTC.

Drive Chain

Checking Drive Chain Slack

Check the drive chain slack before each ride.

How to check drive chain slack:

  1. Place the go – karton a level surface.
  2. Move the go – kartback and forth to find the tightest part of the drive chain, then measure the drive chain slack as shown.
  3. If the drive chain slack is incorrect, adjust the chain before riding Go-Kart.

FR200G-K6-46

NOTICE

Improper drive chain slack can overload the engine and other parts of the go – kart. To prevent this, maintain the drive chain slack within the specified limits.

TIP

When checking and adjusting the drive chain slack, ensure the vehicle is unloaded and all tires rest on a level surface.

TIP

Always use high-quality all-condition lubricant compatible with all O-ring and non-O-ring chains.

Drive chain adjustment

To adjust the drive chain slack:

  1. Loosen the axle carrier/housing pinch bolts and nuts (#2, #3).
  2. Loosen the brake caliper mounting bracket bolt (#1).
TIP

For all models equipped with a chain tensioner, always follow these steps: Lift the chain tensioner off the chain and hold it in that position to release the chain tension. Keep it lifted until the chain adjustment is completed.

NOTICE

The drive chain moves the carrier/housing forward and backward.

To tighten the drive chain:

1. Insert a bolt of appropriate size through the sprocket into the axle carrier.

2. Shift the transmission to the Neutral position.

3. Push the vehicle forward slightly.

4. Once the proper chain slack is achieved, remove the adjuster bolt.

  2. Shift the transmission to neutral.
  3. Push the vehicle backward slightly.
  4. Once the proper chain slack is obtained, remove the adjuster bolt.
  5. Tighten the carrier housing pinch bolts and nuts.
  6. Tighten the brake caliper mounting bracket bolt.

Drive chain slack: 5.0 – 10.0 mm (0.19 – 0.39 in)

Tightening Torques: 21 Nm (15 ft/lb)

Cleaning and Lubricating the Drive Chain

The drive chain must be cleaned and lubricated at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart. Otherwise, it will wear out quickly, especially when operating in dusty or wet areas.

Service the drive chain as follows:

  1. Remove all dirt and mud from the drive chain using a brush or cloth.
  2. Spray chain lubricant onto the entire chain, ensuring all side plates and rollers are adequately lubricated.

The drive chain must be lubricated after washing the go – kart or operating it in the rain or wet areas.

Checking wheel hub bearings

Wheel hub bearings must be checked at the intervals indicated in the periodic maintenance chart. With the go – kart on a level surface, move the top of the tire forward and backward relative to the go – kart to detect any play in the hub bearings. If there is bearing play or the wheel is not turning smoothly, contact the local dealer to locate your local authorized service center.

Directional Tires

The go – kart is equipped with directional tires. The directional tread pattern is designed to roll in only one direction. The lateral grooves on both sides of the tire point towards the center, forming a “W” shape. The “W” shape must point forward on each tire.

NOTICE

When installing tires on your go – kart, the correct tread direction is crucial for safety and driving performance.

TIP

Directional tires can only be rotated from front to back (see the directional indication as an arrow on the outside of the tire).

Adjusting steering toe-in

Adjusting the wheel toe – in significantly impacts handling characteristics. Proper wheel toe – in is essential for both safety and performance. It’s quite easy to determine if your front end is misaligned. Your go – kart should steer straight without drifting or pulling to one side.

How to check Wheel Toe-in

  1. Place the Go-Karton a level surface and check the tire pressure of all tires.
  2. Position the handlebar assembly and wheels straight ahead, then use tie-down straps to lock the handlebar in place.
  3. Mark the tread centers of both front tires with chalk and measure the width “A” between the marks.
  4. Rotate the front tires 180° until the marks are exactly opposite each other.

image53

Adjusting Toe-in

  1. Mark both tie-rod ends. This measurement will be required during adjustment.
  2. Loosen the lock nuts on the tie-rod ends (#1).
  3. Make the same number of turns on both the right and left tie-rods (#2) until the specified toe-in is reached. This ensures the tie-rods remain the same length.

Tighten the tie-rod end lock nuts of both tie rods to 35 Nm / 25.3 ft/ -lbs.
